Conclusions
In conclusion I would like to say that the Blanknoise Project may not give us an exact indication of where the Indian women’s movement is heading, but this is feel is because as discussed earlier, the movement itself is fragmenting into a specific issue based, class specific one and hence there is no one direction that can be observed. However I feel this itself shows us that the era of mass movement’s is over and that due to the issues taken up and the present needs and nature of society the movement has to change in these ways. The Blank Noise Project not only shows us how the nature of a movement is a response/ depends on the larger feminist movement, but also that the reason it is able to survive is due to the larger feminist conciousness brought about as a result of the ‘mainstream’ or earlier feminist movement. The reason the Blanknoise Project is able to work around such a specific and seemingly radical issue is because of the groundwork that has been done since the 1950’s by women's movement’ and feminist movement’s. These movements seem to be heading towards creating a civil society of organisations that are specific in their approach and the issues they deal with yet drawing on the social capital created by the women’s movement so far.
