We are pleased to announce that the call for Application for our forthcoming "Certificate Course in Gender Development 2nd May - 22nd June 2007" is now open. Please help circulate this announcement.

Benefits

The overall purpose of this training programme is to enhance the gender-responsive planning of participants and their management skills, so that they can more effectively play their part in implementing gender-sensitive development policies and mainstreaming gender in achieving the Millennium Development Goals, MDG's in their various countries. Participants will learn, share, and develop practical methodologies and strategies for extending and promoting gender responsive policies in their organisations and countries.

Modular Course Structure (The course consists of 4 modules)

Module 1: Introduction

Module 2: Gender Development and Analysis
4. Identifying Gender Issues
5. Gender Facts, Figures and Opinions

7. The Policy Environment
8. The Concept of Gender Analysis

Module 3: Gender Framework
9. Gender Issues in Management
10. Gender Responsive Policy Making
11. Gender Responsive Planning

Module 4: Conclusion and Plan of Action
12. Monitoring and Evaluation
13. Final Examination

Online, interactive, self-paced and self-learning modules. Surveys and tests to test your knowledge and understanding before and after the test.

Who Should Apply
The course is aimed at women, men, gender officers, programs and project managers, research officers, policy makers, community advocates, women leaders and members of coalitions and Networks, students, staff of NGOs and CBOs, donor agency field workers, volunteers, development actors, trainers, business students, government officials etc. Furthermore, every opportunity will be taken for joint learning events for clients and GHRLTI staff. Candidates should have a good written command of English language and high competence and comfort with computer and internet use.

Cost: The course tuition fee is US$200. There is a limited amount of partial scholarships available for this course for applicants from developing
countries, based on financial need.

Application Procedure


The deadline for receipt of applications for this unique and exciting course is 20th April 2007 before 17:00pm. While full tuition payment is due on 1st May 2007. However, applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
