[goodbookz] Village Publishing - Library Scheme

Dear Friends Greetings from PEHEL! You would be happy to know that PEHEL, a Village Publishing Unit of Books for Change, has initiated a scheme for setting up of Village Libraries for the betterment of the village community. As part of this mass campaign, we have introduced 3 types of Library Sets, of Rs. 550 (comprising 75 books), Rs. 750 (comprising of 100 books) and Rs. 1000 (comprising of 150 books). These sets contain a selection of available books on relevant issues. Currently the issues we focus on are Peace and Harmony, Untouchability, Poverty, vulnerability and homeless, Health and disability, Gender and Women empowerment, Legal rights, and Children Literature. We have also added a series of 10 books produced by PEHEL on issues including health and disability and the Public Distribution System, to these library sets. We are writing to you to request you to come forward and join us in this campaign and help spread, within your area of operation, the benefits to the CBOs, panchayats, other organisations/ individuals actively working on these issues and the village community at large. The lists of publications contained in these sets have been enclosed for your reference. We shall prepare the sets once we receive orders from you. Kindly note that all the books are in Hindi. But these could be translated to other languages on demand. We would also like to take this opportunity to invite your feedback and suggestions. In case you feel the need for literature on any specific issue within your area of operation, we would be happy to fill the gap. We would also be willing to collaborate with you on any new initiative that you feel should be taken up for the benefit of the community at large. If there are any publication, magazine, films, documentaries etc. produced or translated by you or your organisations on the above topics, please send us the details. We would like to include the same in our Library sets. Looking forward to hearing from you at an early date.
